Tuja Brabant

(Thuja occidentalis)

“Brabant” is a cultivar of Thuja occidentalis developed in the Netherlands, in the Brabant region, thus the name.
The plant has characteristic column-like silhouette, with narrow crown made of short branches. Properly clipped it thickens very well.

The little branches are flat and densely covered with adhering scaly light green needles.

Young plants grow very quickly with yearly growth of 30 cm. Older plants grow far slower. In 10 years the tree grow to 3 m, but all in all it can reach as high as 5 m. Compact, column-like silhouette, quick growth and light scale coloring – all that made the “Brabant” Thuja occidentalis one of the most common and popular plants for hedges.
